This year is the year of the dragon according to the twelve signs of the zodiac in Chinese astrology. The Chinese and people in Japan, too, believe that each year is represented by a particular animal and that each animal is associated with certain personality traits. In contrast to European dragons, which are considered evil, Asian dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, hurricane, and floods. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck. Dragon years are usually the most popular to have babies. There are more babies born in Dragon years than in any other animal years of the Zodiac.
